Therapeutic Approaches

Therapy shaped around you

Every person is unique. I draw on a wide range of evidence-based approaches — blending what works best for you, not a fixed formula.

A calm, reflective moment representing the therapeutic journey

An integrative, holistic approach

Rather than working from a single model, I bring together the most effective techniques from across the therapeutic landscape. This means your sessions are tailored to your specific circumstances, personality, and goals — meeting you exactly where you are.

Approach 01

Client-Centred Therapy

You are the expert on your own life

Client-Centred Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, places you at the heart of the therapeutic process. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you are truly heard and accepted. Rather than directing or advising, I trust in your innate capacity for growth and self-understanding — gently reflecting back what you share so you can gain deeper clarity about your own thoughts, feelings, and needs.

Approach 02

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Change the patterns that hold you back

CBT is one of the most widely researched and effective therapies available. It works by helping you identify the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours — and developing practical tools to challenge and shift unhelpful patterns. CBT is structured, goal-focused, and empowering, giving you skills you can use long after our sessions end.

Approach 03

Psychodynamic Therapy

Understand the roots of how you feel

Psychodynamic therapy explores how your past experiences — including early relationships and unconscious patterns — may be shaping your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By bringing these hidden influences into awareness, you can begin to understand yourself more deeply and make lasting, meaningful change. This approach is particularly powerful for those who feel stuck in repeating patterns.

Approach 04

Solution-Focused Therapy

Build on your strengths, move towards your goals

Solution-Focused Therapy is a forward-looking, strengths-based approach. Rather than dwelling on problems, we explore what is already working in your life and what your preferred future looks like — then build practical steps to get there. This approach is energising and empowering, helping you recognise your own resilience and resourcefulness.

Approach 05

Trauma-Focused Therapy

Reclaim safety, stability, and self

Trauma can leave lasting imprints on the mind and body — affecting how we feel, relate to others, and move through the world. My trauma-focused work draws on evidence-based approaches to help you process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe. I work sensitively with both adults and children, supporting you to move from survival mode into a place of greater calm, stability, and self-trust.

Approach 06

Emotional Freedom Work

Release what the body holds

Emotional Freedom Work recognises that emotions are not just mental — they are held in the body too. Using a range of somatic and energy-based techniques, we work to release emotional blocks that may be keeping you stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed. This approach can be particularly helpful when talking alone doesn't seem to shift things, offering a gentle but powerful pathway to inner calm and emotional balance.

Approach 07

Inner Child Work

Heal the younger parts of yourself

Inner Child Work invites you to reconnect with and nurture the younger parts of yourself — the parts that may have been hurt, neglected, or misunderstood in childhood. By acknowledging and healing these early wounds, you can begin to build a more compassionate relationship with yourself, break free from old patterns, and step into a fuller, more authentic version of who you are.

For Couples

Couples Counselling

I also work with couples who want to repair trust, improve communication, and deepen their emotional connection. Whether you are navigating a specific crisis or simply feeling disconnected, couples counselling offers a safe, structured space to be heard — and to hear each other.

For Young People

Working with Teens

Adolescence can be an intense and confusing time. I offer a safe, understanding space for young people to explore identity, emotions, friendships, family pressures, and the challenges of growing up — using approaches adapted to be engaging and accessible for teens.

Not sure which approach is right for you?

That's completely normal — most people aren't. In our first session, we'll talk through what you're experiencing and I'll suggest the approaches most likely to help. There's no pressure and no fixed plan.
